Actually, I think anthropomorphic just refers to human-like qualities given to something decidedly non-human. This isn't necessarily a body shape, but can also be something like a mind or other qualities with which a human can relate.

I'd use Narnia's Aslan character as a good example, as he has a personality that is certainly more human than that of any real lion. Or you could take your pick from the myriad animated films featuring talking animals. Really it's a device to make humans able to empathise with something that that couldn't normally.

Of course, this is not to say that physical attributes of humans applied to animals and whatnot doesn't count as anthro. It just doesn't exclusively refer to that.
