Chais pas mate, I'm your age and I remember being really annoyed by stupid catchphrases and media references. Some kids would milk one singular catchphrase for years.
With the spread of internet use though, most memes have become both more short lived and absurdist, and 'global' so us fossils get really confused.
Do you remember the first youtube videos that went 'viral' and people would keep telling you about them? Did you never have an acquaintance OBSESSED with Annoying Orange? Those were the days.
