We are happy to announce that as of right now, we have launched our new tagging system! Many thanks to one of our admins, Akamaru, for making this happen. You can now add tags to any posts, and they will show up as results on our search page. Eventually, we plan to have one or more pages dedicated to tagged browsing, but for now we are still looking for bugs. Please report anything you find to [email protected], or post about it on /lo/.

We've made some changes to our often unused alternative style sheets. We now only have two options; Dark (default) and Sky. Check it out by selecting it in the top menu, we actually made a good looking alternative this time, I promise.

Users may be occasionally receiving error messages. If you do, don't worry, it's just because we're receiving more traffic than usual because Pawsru is down. If you do receive an error message, simply try again in a few moments.

We are going to be removing some of our more dead boards soon. All the posts on them will be moved to the best suited board, so no content will be lost. However, you may start seeing a lot of posts from other boards getting mixed around. Don't worry though, we got this.

Guess what? Akamaru made something awesome. You may have already noticed the new board under Misc, but /r/ - Recent Posts is now fully functional. This page is technically not a board, but rather a list of posts on U-18Chan sorted by date. Not only this, but you can also select which boards you wish to see recent posts for, in case you'd rather not see what's new on /p/ while looking for new comics on /gc/ or something like that.

But wait! There's more! We have also added a search feature, which searches all posts on U-18Chan, all on the same page! How could things get better then that? Well, that's a surprise for later. Right now, enjoy the awesomeness. Trust me, you'll like it.

Alrighty then, it's serious business time. As most of you know, we have had copyright complaints in the past, and as such removed the copyright material. However, it appears as though none of you know fuck all about shit. Allow me to assist you.

First off, U-18Chan will remove any copyright content upon request. However, we can not guarantee that it won't be uploaded again. U-18Chan has a fairly high post count, and we do not have paid staff, so all we can say is we'll do the best we can. If you are a copyright holder of any content posted and wish for it to be removed, please email the request to [email protected] If you attempt to contact staff directly, or any other means then our support email, your request will not be processed.

We have also decided to make a news post whenever copyright material is removed, as it seems many people can't take a hint (I'm talking to you, /gc/).

We will also keep a log of these requests, in case any of you insist that we are just lying because we love making you unhappy. The logs can be found on our new board; /cnt/ - Copyrights N' Takedowns.

It has come to my attention that a few users of this site are upset about the recent removal of some comics due to copyright grounds. Since this has happened many times in the past, without people moaning in this way, it is obvious there are a lot of new users here. So to those of you who are complaining, you must be new here, Welcome to U-18Chan!

We at U-18Chan are against censorship, and as a result, we only remove content from U-18Chan if it violates the rules or when we are requested to by the copyright holder. The rules prohibiting cub, child pornography, beastiality etc are there mainly for legal reasons. Thus, any removed content is for legal reasons. All other websites are subject to more or less the same laws.

When you are looking at the rules and FAQs page, you'll notice we have no DNP list. That means you're free to post whatever you want, as long as it complies with the rules.

We recently discovered that our support email shit the bed and stopped forwarding emails to us. As a result, we have a good ten emails or so that we did not know of until now. The Gay Furry Comics Index (/igc/) is currently down for maintenance. There where too many threads being loaded at once, so our server could not handle it. We will bring it back as soon as we are done working on it.

I have removed the wordfilter for changing "u18chan" to "U-18Chan" because it was messing with links pointing to u18chan.com. For reference, the proper way of writing our name is U-18Chan, not u18chan, u-18chan and especially not pig disgusting u18-chan!

You can now access the site with u18chan.com instead of the old, gross board. url. The old urls still work of course, but you should all think about updating your book marks.

On Wednesday, November 16, 2011, U-18Chan will be partaking in an Anti-Censorship movement. During this, our main page will have our logo and slogan "Blacked out". This 'stop censorship' message leads to a page where users will contact their congressional representatives. If you're not a resident of the United States, please bear with us.

We have added a Xat chat room, which you can find in the Misc section of the menu. This will actually stay, unlike the shitty IRC room. Xat is far from perfect, but at least it is easy to use. Feel free to check in and chat with your fellow browsers, or to contact staff. It is not necessary to register with Xat in order to use the chat room.

If you take a look at the boards, you will see we have added country flags to all of them. These are generated based on your IP and do not show anyone your exact location, only your country, so don't worry about people finding your neighborhood. Unless you live in the Vatican, then it might be an issue. We have also added translation bars for all our non-English speaking users. We do not know how well these things work, but if they are like most translation software, they might be terrible. Please let us know about your experiences with them.

We have yet another new feature on U-18chan! You'll notice a new icon when viewing a thread called "Hide posts without an image." It does just that, hides all posts without an image. This way, you can skip comments and discussion and just look at the pictures! Excellent for when you just want to fap. With this added feature, we will no longer have to clean threads or make discussion threads. A lot of people don't bother reading the news, so please try to help spread the word whenever you see someone complaining about too much discussion in a thread. Also, please try to refrain from posting non-relevant images in comic threads. It's just a polite thing to do.

In addition, the FAQs page has been updated to include all the wonderful features U-18chan supports. Please check this out if you have not already, you might be missing out on something you do not know of yet.

We have brought back /pb/ - Post Your Naked Body. In case the title is not obvious enough, this is a board for you to show off your goodies. We used to have this board a long, long time ago, but removed it due to the trauma it caused to the staff. Now, it's back, but as a trial board. It may or may not last depending on it's popularity and how well it is controlled. If things get out of hand, it will be removed.

The rules have also been updated due to the addition of this board.

Survey 4 filled out pretty fast, so I went ahead and wrote up the results, rather then waiting for the stranglers like I normally do. I apologise if you didn't get a chance to fill this out, I'll make sure to leave the next one up for longer.

We have recently been hit by spam attacks a few times, as some of you may have noticed. From what we can find, several furry boards have been hit by this, including Petichan's fur boards and pawsru. We appreciate all of those who reported the spam. Please note, it is a bad idea to post during a spam attack, as you may be accidentally banned. Additionally, threads on U-18chan do not prune. We can handle pages and pages of spam posts and not have to worry, we have plenty of hard drive space. We also have nightly backups. So, if you ever see some spam, just let us know and wait. We will take care of it as soon as possible.

Well that was easier then expected. As you can see, we now have a fully working menubar again. This one is less resource intensive than the last, but so far is lacking a few features. Don't worry, they will be added back soon. Right now, the new menubar works on all browsers, and is available in both Dark and Cute styles. We have successfully gotten our new imageboard software running! We are using a modified version of the ImageBoard4Free software which was created by Infinitus. He has been kind enough to let us use it while he works out the last of the bugs for what will hopefully be a public release. A: Besides the focus on images, image boards are very well known for their use of anonymity when posting. You do not have to sign up or register. Instead, you simply post with whatever name you choose. You can use tripcodes to help identify yourself if you wish. Currently, there is nowhere to sign up on U-18Chan, so all features may be used by guests and returning visitors alike.

Q: I want to post some lesbian yiff, so that would go in Gay Furries, right?
A: No, but this is an understandable mistake. When U-18Chan was first created, we only had the boards Furries and Furry Comics, but as the community grew, we felt the need to create new boards for gay content (male on male), and eventually a shemale board as well. As a rule of thumb, anything a heterosexual male would enjoy goes on Furries or Furry Comics. This includes lesbians and/or orgies etc. If something involves males in sexual contact and females, it's a bit iffy. In general we post those on Requests & Sauce. One day this may change.

A: No, not if you don't want everyone to hate you forever. If you have a lot of this theme of image, post it in the most appropriate board and ask people to join in. If you have little or no images, or the theme does not fit any of the existing boards, post your request on our Request & Source board. Do not make the same request on multiple boards.

Q: The rules say that even drawn or digital pornographic depictions of animals are illegal, doesn't that mean yiffy art is illegal and against the rules?
A: The United Kingdom laws, and hence our rules, are targeted at depictions of animals engaging in sexual acts with humans. Although Furries (some more than others) have animal characteristics, they are fictional. What does this mean to you, the user? It means furrows are okay, but ferals are not. Ferals engaging with furries is a gray area, but we prefer to stay on the safe side and not allow it. This is not up for discussion.

Q: How am I supposed to be able to tell if a drawn character is over or under 18?
A: Use your common sense. If it is obvious the image is of a child then do not post it, if it looks like they could be over 18 then you are fine. The law is meant to prevent people from being exposed to something similar to child pornography and eventually drawn into the real thing, as well as to stop tempting paedophiles. It does not matter whether or not you agree with this, nor is this the opinion of U-18Chan. It is that of the United Kingdom government. We will not be too strict on furry images, since they are fictional creatures and not human. Staff members will use their own judgment if material if this nature is in question. Note that cub yiff is still against the rules.

A: Though cub is not technically illegal in the United Kingdom, it is still pretty risky and controversial. For this reason we're going to err on the side of caution and deny it from bring posted on our boards.

A: No. Whatever you think or have heard, we here at U-18Chan describe cub as babies or toddlers. Basically anyone who has not hit puberty yet. Furries are not real creatures, so posting a comic with characters who are say, 16 or 17 is perfectly fine. Our moderators may end up making judgment calls on content that is in the fuzzy area in between, but you will not be banned if we decide the content is not allowed, so don't be afraid to post anyways.

A: No. If something is not allowed on U-18Chan, it will be stated in the rules. If anyone tells you otherwise then they are a filthy liar, or mentally impaired. If it is the latter, please be nice to them. Retards have feelings too.

Q: How do I make sure people are not imitating me?
A: All image boards are equipped with the ability to use what are called 'trip codes'. If you place a "#" character after your name, followed by any combination of characters you can remember, just like a password, then when you post a series of characters generated by the board software in a slightly different font. The same set of characters will appear every time you use your trip code on any image board. This is the most common way of identifying that you are the same person. You can also use a 'secure tripcode' by using two "#" symbols instead of one. A secure tripcode will generate a different set of characters for each board you use on each site.

Q: Can you delete [user]'s post in the [content] thread on [board]? He/she is saying negative things about the comic and/or that he/she said he/she does not like the artist who made it. Hypocrite.
A: First, try not being so vague next time. Secondly, no. He/she is allowed to talk about what he/she does not like about a specific piece of art, or an artist in general. This is called critiquing. If you want, you could comment on their post, causing a conversation. I know, it sounds crazy, but trust me. They are not a hypocrite for expressing their negative opinion. Attacking other users because of their opinion could be flagged as flaming and result in a ban.

A:No, threads on U-18Chan do not 404, therefore bumping of threads is not necessary, in fact, any bump posts are automatically revoked by the server to avoid cluttering up the threads.

Q: What happened to the old site and the old old site?
A: The old old site was on ImageBoard4Free until it went offline one day. We eventually purchased our own server and ran the site off of Kusaba X. Eventually, the poorly coded software overloaded the server, so we came into contact with the ImageBoard4Free creator and got the course code he wrote for his site. We then transferred our Kusaba X database onto the ImageBaord4Free software,which is far more stable. In short, we are done fucking with server shit. For now..

A: So long as the image or images are related to the boards they are posted on, and they are left u for everyone to share, go ahead. However, U-18Chan is NOT a free image hosting website. http://imgur.com is much better suited for that sort of stuff.

Q: I'm a copyright holder and some of my work is posted on U-18Chan without my permission. I don't like this, what can I do?
A: U-18Chan hosts user submitted content. That means our users upload content without it being checked by the staff. Whilst we at U-18Chan do try to prevent copyrighted works being uploaded, we are all volunteers and have other commitments as well as U-18Chan. Because of this, we will often miss copyrighted content. If you wish for your copyright content to be removed, email us at [email protected] We at U-18Chan can not be held responsible for any lost emails sent to the wrong address, etc.

U-18Chan Feature List:

Standard Image board features:
• Sage: Whenever you post, the thread you posted in is bumped to the top position on the first page for that board. If you enter "sage" in the email field, the thread will not be bumped.
• noko: Like sage, this is entered into the email field when posting. If you post using noko, you will be redirected to the thread you posted in or started after hitting submit, rather than the first page of the board.
• Watch Thread: This adds the thread selected to the Watched Threads list. This list will let you know when a new post is made, even when browsing other board. You can see you can see and manage your watched threads list by clicking the "WT" link in the top right corner of each page.
• Quote: Putting a ">" symbol before a line of text will make it appear in a different colour. This is used for quoting other posts, similarly to an email.

Features that are unique to U-18Chan:
• Multi-file Upload: You are able to upload up to five files in one post on select boards.
• Post linking: In order to make a link to another post in your post, either click on the post ID, or manually enter it with ">>" in front. An example would be ">>23864". This would link to post number 23864. Most image boards support this, but they require on extra step to link between boards. U-18Chan uses one pool of post numbers for all boards, so this is not required. This mean you can post a ink to /fur/ when on /c/, as an example.
• Indices: Select boards have an index. The index of a board shows the subject and image of the first post of every thread on the board.
• Report Post: You can tick the box next to any posts you think should be brought to our attention and select the Report option in the bottom right corner of the page if you like. Staff will be alerted of the post and look into it.
• Is Spoiler: Click the check box next to this when posting if you wish your image to be shown as a spoiler. When this is done, the thumbnail generated will be a stop sign with the word spoiler on it. People will have to open the image in order to see it.
• BB Codes: U-18Chan has full support for BB codes. This includes bold, italic, underlined, strike, and spoiler.

The following are shown as buttons next to posts on the same line as the subject and post name:
• Edit Post: Allows you to edit the post selected if you have entered the same posting password in the password field. You're browser should have this entered already by default if you have ignored the password field when posting in the past.
• Download Images As ZIP: Compresses all images in a thread into one ZIP folder which is then downloaded through your browser.
• Expand Thread: This button will open the thread without having to enter reply mode.
• Quick Reply: Allows you to reply to a thread without having to enter reply mode.
• Hide Thread: Hides a thread when you are browsing a board. This way you don't have to look at the threads you do not like. Once hidden, a Show Thread button appears in it's place.
• Hide Posts Without An Image: Very self explanatory. This button hides any posts that do not have an image, making it easy to view all images in a thread. Perfect for comics.

The following content will not be tolerated anywhere on U-18Chan:

1. Explicit images featuring actual animals, furry cub, ferals or under 18s. Photographed or drawn.


2. Flaming, trolling or spamming.


3. Requests posted outside of the designated board.


4. Personal information regarding other users, posted with malicious intent.


5. Excessive amounts of butthurt.

Breaching points (1.) or (5.) may warrant a permanent ban and authorities may be contacted.
All other bans may default to lengths that vary in days, according to the severity of the infraction;
or according to which side of the bed the concerned member of staff got out of that morning.
Ban lengths are likely to multiply against repeat infractions and can easily become permanent.


U-18Chan Rules of Netiquette

1. Do not complain about content or people without reason. Critique is one thing, but stating that you do not like
   something without any given reason or purpose adds nothing to the thread.


2. Refrain from sliding insults into your conversations with others. Using playful words (by U-18Chan terms) such
   as faggot or nigger is fine, but no personal attacks or intentional hostility. If you have a good argument, you
   shouldn't need to support it with insults.


3. Submit complaints or requests to the staff via the report post feature, or emailing support. Simply complaining
   on the boards is rude, inappropriate, and counter productive.


4. Resist the urge to remind people that U-18Chan is a porn site. If people want to talk, they can talk. Stating
   the obvious only increases your douche factor.


5. Be the bigger man. If someone attacks you, report them. Don't get mixed up in a flame war or you'll be punished
   as well.


6. If your post is not going to contribute in any way, it probably shouldn't be submitted. This includes bumping
   threads, flame bating, and trolling.

You will most likely not be banned for breaking any of the U-18Chan rules of etiquette if it is a first offence,
but your post may be edited or deleted by staff.

Administrators are the law.
The word of Administrators is final.

Sanctions may be given without warning to anyone who disobey the staff, regardless of the situation or context.
